The young stopper is starting for the Black Cats’ under-23 side against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League Cup this evening.
Harker spent part of this season on loan at National League North side Blyth Spartans, but returned to St James’s Park in December.
The 21-year-old has previously headed to Spain with the Magpies first-team squad for a training camp but, with his future uncertain, is now training at the Academy of Light,
