Sunderland AFC have cancelled Phil Parkinson’s weekly press conference – after the EFL confirmed that fixtures would be suspended until April 4.

The Black Cats’ boss was set to face the press at 12:30pm at the Academy of Light, but journalists were informed that the media briefing would not be happening as scheduled.

The club’s announcement came just after an EFL statement was released confirming games would be cancelled until April 4.

Sunderland's fixtures with Blackpool and Southend are affected.
