Sunderland won their second League One game of the season after beating MK Dons 2-1 at Stadium MK.

Ross Stewart put the Black Cats ahead three minutes before half-time, before Elliot Embleton added a second shortly after the interval.

Tottenham loanee Troy Parrott pulled a goal back for the hosts while Lynden Gooch saw a penalty saved by Dons goalkeeper Andrew Fisher.

Sunderland had the chance to make the game secure as Stewart was fouled by Darling after Neil’s pass. The referee pointed to the spot.

Gooch’s low effort was saved by Fisher to the keeper’s left. MK Dons are still in it.

The Sunderland defender is booked for a foul on Twine.

The home fans were calling for a red as they thought their man was through on goal. It looked like Sunderland had cover.

Doyle got caught trying to clear the ball in his own penalty area but his skewed clearance fell to Eisa at a tight angle. Burge saved his effort.

Watson cut the ball back for O’Riely on the right and the right and the latter flashed a low effort across goal.

Now Evans is down but has just got back to his feet.

It was a neat finish from the MK Dons striker.
