Stephen Elliott: Phil Parkinson doesn't know his best Sunderland strike pairing - it's time these two started at Charlton

I know he has said he will use different personnel depending on the opposition but it’s obvious he doesn’t know what his best pairing is.

I cannot help but think that he is waiting for one or even two of his forwards to say to him “look Gaffer it has to be me in the team, you can’t drop me”.

At this moment in time nobody has done this yet.

It may take for Parkinson to go with the same partnership for a few games to try and build up a connection.

We haven’t seen Will Grigg since the first game and he will be disappointed he hasn’t been used since.

He certainly is the more mobile out of himself, Danny Graham and Charlie Wyke and with mobility being lacking in the team I’d like to see him back out there.

I’d be inclined to give himself and Graham a go up top together.

They haven’t been tried.

I think they may complement each other and just maybe it could be the partnership that gets this team on the run of goals that it so desperately needs.
