Ross, speaking to Sky Sports News’ Jim White, was asked if he had watched the six episode series on Netflix.

He said: "I was hoping you'd go to an advert Jim before asking me that!

"I've watched a little bit of it but I haven't watched it all.

"It's no surprise to say I lived through that period, so I don't need to necessarily watch it to know what it was like and to remember it.

"Of course, it is a television programme so some of it is a little bit different from reality.”

Ross, who suffered back-to-back Wembley heartbreaks - including Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy final - wishes his former employers the best for the future.

"I said when I first left the club, I had a fantastic time as manager and loved every minute of it.

"It was a privilege to manage the club and I wish them well for the future."
