Sunderland's FA Cup third round clash with Shrewsbury Town has been confirmed for Saturday, January 7.

The game will get underway at 3pm, with ticket details to be released in due course, the League One club has announced.

A Shrewsbury statement read: "Shrewsbury Town will welcome Sunderland to Montgomery Waters Meadow on Saturday 7th January 2023 for our FA Cup third round clash.

“The game will kick off at 3:00pm. Ticket details will be announced in due course.

“Shrewsbury Town were due to play MK Dons at Stadium MK at that time. This fixture has been rearranged and details will be announced shortly.”

Sunderland return to Championship action on Monday evening, they host West Bromwich Albion at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland head into the game on the back of back-to-back victories over Birmingham City and Millwall, either side of the break due to the Qatar World Cup, which is entering the later stages of the competition.
