The Black Cats now trail 2-0 heading into the second leg at the Stadium of Light on Saturday after losing against Lincoln City tonight.

It’s not mission impossible for Sunderland but Lee Johnson’s men now face a mammoth task to overturn the deficit on Wearside in front of 10,000 fans.

The second particularly struck a nerve after a defensive mix-up between defender Tom Flanagan and goalkeeper Lee Burge.

@mattsmith2707: “Sack the lot.”

@no1mackem: "Pathetic, players not good enough for pub team and Johnson does give u confidence in his team selection, sack the lot.”

@JRGreen99: “Woeful defending- slow to attack. McGeady hits the target or one of those crossbar attempts goes in then it’s a different game. Confident we can get at least two goals at home.”

@dazzasafc85: “1-0 down and brings on Leadbitter. Maguire not even a run out. I'm sorry but my patience with Johnson is running very thin.

@trusty4480: “I think Bailey Wright is getting off Scot-free here, a free header 6 yards out, should of bust the net.”

@Jadamson11: “It’s mental to me that Johnson isn’t getting any flak for this. If this was Parkinson or Ross, there would be uproar.”

@DeanCruddace: “Flanagan for the first, Flanagan & Burge for the second.”
