The Black Cats have now gone eight games without a win, but there were some positives to pick from the 1-1 draw with the Seasiders.
Our writer Phil Smith has dished out his player ratings, with some mixed marks after Sunderland dropped more points on home soil.

5. Laurens De Bock
Brought out the ball reasonably well from the back. Defended OK in the main but very fortunate he was not punished by Gnanduillet with Blackpool leading 1-0. 6 | JPIMedia Photo: FRANK REID
6. Tom Flanagan
Frustrated occasionally in possession but it was his most composed defensive showing for a while. 6 | Getty Images Photo: Alex Davidson
7. George Dobson
Left his side in trouble after being sent off for a second yellow with just over 15 minutes to play. Had competed well up until then without offering much creativity. 5 | JPIMedia Resell Photo: FRANK REID
8. Max Power
Struggled to make much of an impression despite plenty of application. Doesn’t seem to be suited to Parkinson’s style at the moment. 5 | JPIMedia Photo: FRANK REID
