9. Aiden McGeady - 5
Looked well off the pace in the first half, though Sunderland’s inability to build any attacks in the Ipswich half meant it was far from the ideal platform for him to shine. Improved in the second with some good crosses, taken off just after 70 minutes. 5 Photo: Ian Horrocks
10. Lynden Gooch - 6
Like many, struggled to get into the game early on. Good composure to score the pivotal equaliser and was a threat in the final 20. 6 Photo: Ian Horrocks
11. Marc McNulty - 6
Had a dreadful start to the game, giving away cheap fouls and being found offside from dead balls. Certainly benefited when Sunderland got more bodies forward later on and it was excellent persistence to win the ball off Chambers, and good composure to square for Gooch. 6 Photo: FRANK REID
12. Chris Maguire - 7
Excellent. No end product which would have been deserved. His ability to hold onto the ball and drive at defenders and pick up intelligent positions was key in a transformed side after the break. 7 Photo: Frank Reid
