Sunderland finished the regular campaign with their fifth defeat in a row.
Nicolas Madsen’s early goal proved the difference between the teams as the Black Cats again struggled to create any chances of note. Here’s how we rated the Black Cats after another disappointing display...
5. Luke O'Nien
By and large did OK in his battle with the very physical Michael Frey. Didn’t bring as much urgency in possession as we’re used to. 5 | Phil Smith
6. Dan Neil
Started the game in a more advanced role but was never really able to get on the ball around the opposition box as planned. Had a quiet game. 5 | Phil Smith
7. Jobe Bellingham
Played in a deeper role to begin with and a slow start gifted the ball to QPR in some dangerous positions. Improved and played more advanced in the latter stages but didn’t create much. 5 | Phil Smith
8. Chris Rigg
Didn’t really see the ball in advanced areas with just one or two opportunities to cross that yielded little. 5 | Phil Smith Photo: Phil Smith
