9. Max Power
Scored a fine goal late on with a firm effort from distance. A vocal presence on the day he was named new team captain. 7 Photo: Frank Reid
10. Dan Neil
There were some excellent touches and flashes of that quality that has made everyone take notice in pre-season. His willingness to press was encouraging, too, though he just wasn’t able to manufacture that moment of magic as he has done of late. 6 Photo: Frank Reid
11. Charlie Wyke
Could not have done much more after the disappointment of losing his place at the weekend. Scored two good headers, the first particularly impressive, and will have also pleased his manager with his pressing. That aspect of his game was stepped up from pre-season. 7 Photo: Frank Reid
12. Danny Graham
Made his mark within minutes with a good header that led to Scowen's goal. Some good build-up play preceded a morale-boosting first goal at the Stadium of Light. A very good cameo. 7 Photo: FRANK REID 2020
