The Black Cats left it late to rescue a point against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday afternoon, with Jordan Jones and Chris Maguire both hitting superb long-range strikes in a 2-2 draw.

That result left Johnson’s men fifth in the table, and a win tonight could lift them up to fourth depending on how Portsmouth fare against Doncaster Rovers.

By comparison, Swindon have put together an unbeaten run of three matches in the league, but are still 18th in the table, just three points outside of the relegation zone.

With that in mind, the Wearsiders welcome Carl Winchester back to the side, while there’s also a starting role for the aforementioned Jones following his heroics at the weekend – although many fans were left baffled by the omission of fellow goalscorer Maguire.
