Norwich City have suffered an injury blow ahead of their clash with Sunderland this weekend.

David Wagner's side were second best at Carrow Road as Michael Carrick's Middlesbrough won 2-1 in the Championship on Tuesday evening, leaving Norwich City winless in their last four fixtures.

Norwich now face the trip to the North East to face Sunderland, who have lost their last three games under head coach Tony Mowbray, at the Stadium of Light on Saturday in the league.

After his side's loss to Middlesbrough, Wagner confirmed a serious injury blow to Scotland international goalkeeper Angus Gunn after the former Southampton man picked up a knock against Leeds United last week.

“He had a scan. that. He pulled a muscle,” said Wagner. “He will miss the next three before the international break but he will be back after we will make a decision in the next days about whether we recall Jon (McCracken). I have to have conversations with our keeper coach Clem (Paul Clements).”
