Norwich City boss reveals team news ahead of Sunderland Championship clash

Dean Smith has revealed Norwich City have no new injury concerns ahead of the game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Sunderland, aiming to build on their impressive form this season, face Norwich at 12.30pm.

Ahead of the game, the Norwich boss has confirmed his squad came through their midweek game with AFC Bournemouth without any further injuries, though Sam Byram was taken off at half-time.

Speaking ahead of the trip to the North East, Smith said: “It’s about managing him and what loads he can tolerate.

“We want him to be fully fit to push the starters.”

Meanwhile, Andrew Omobamidele was originally thought to be unavailable for Tuesday’s game with an ankle injury, but the centre-back made the bench.

And he has won praise from the Norwich boss.

He added: “He was medically okay to train.

“I love the attitude of the lad.”

Sunderland will be aiming to build on the victory over Stoke City last time out.
