Reports suggest Campbell – who applied last time following Jack Ross’ sacking – is keen to replace Phil Parkinson and has been interviewed for the role this week.

CaughtOffside claim the former Arsenal, Spurs and England defender was interviewed for the job on Wednesday.

Danny Cowley remains the favourite to take charge with Paul Cook, Lee Johnson and Daniel Stendel also in the running.
