Kristjaan Speakman involved in new manager hunt

Kristjaan Speakman is already involved in the Sunderland manager hunt, according to Football Insider

The 41-year-old is said to be in advanced talks to become the League One club’s new technical director.

Speakman is technically still at Birmingham but he is bidding farewell to the club after 14 years.

The report states: "A Sunderland source has told Football Insider that the incoming executive is already getting his feet under the table through his involvement in the search for a successor to Phil Parkinson.

“Speakman is technically still at Birmingham but he is bidding farewell to the club after 14 years.”

Plymouth game re-arranged

Sunderland AFC’s upcoming game against Plymouth Argyle has been rearranged.

Originally scheduled to be played on Saturday 9 January at the Stadium of Light, the fixture has been rescheduled following the Pilgrims’ Emirates FA Cup progression.

The match will now be played on Tuesday 19 January at 7pm.
