The Black Cats will be looking to get back to winning ways following Friday’s goalless draw with Doncaster, yet they will have to do it without defender Alim Ozturk.

After starting the Wearsiders’ last nine league games, the Turkish centre-back hasn’t even been included in the matchday squad – with some suggestions he’s picked up a knock.

New signing Bailey Wright will take Ozturk’s place in the heart of defence, with the Australian defender set to make his Black Cats debut after arriving on loan from Bristol City.

Supporters were quick to react to the team news, with many keen to see Wright in action.

Here’s how some fans responded on social media:

@Jaf_Safc: Wew! Where’s Ozturk? Been immense lately

@theroker_roar: Would have had Robson on the bench instead of Leadbitter, If this is going to be our system going forward we still need some wing backs brought in before the end of the window though.

@Gav1879: Presume Lafferty still isn’t considered fit enough to displace Wyke, who needs to have a good game tonight. Looking forward to watching Bailey Wright

@stustuy: Very strong defence! Best in the league. Keep that back 5 until the end of the season. We can’t concede tonight. Strong team. Haway the lads!
