Here’s how the game played out:

The Sunderland man came away with possession after sliding in, winning the ball and leaving his opponent on the ground.

11’ Patino booked

Patino is booked after catching Ekwah inside the Sunderland half.

9’ Chances for Sunderland

That was the best chance of the game so far after Neil played a one-two with Roberts before the midfielder’s low shot from inside the box was blocked by Darling.

Moments later Ekwah fired an effort over the bar.

7’ Swansea fans want a corner

The Swansea fans are unhappy after the ball appeared to come off Bellingham but the referee awarded a goal kick after Ashby broke down the right.

3’ Over from Neil

Neil fires over from the edge of the box after he was found by Ballard who stepped out of defence and produced a low forward pass.

Clarke then charged down the left moments later but Swansea managed to clear the danger.

2’ How Sunderland have started

Sunderland have started in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation with Bellingham just behind Rusyn.

Swansea are playing with a similar shape.

So Sunderland are unchanged following last weekend’s 3-1 win over Norwich, with Nazariy Rusyn keeping his place up front.

Adil Aouchiche returns to the bench following a groin issue, replacing Chris Rigg who is away at the Under-17s World Cup. Goalkeeper Matthew Young is also named on the bench in place of Nathan Bishop.

Eliezer Mayenda isn’t named on the bench despite travelling with the squad to South Wales.

Swansea are also unchanged following their 1-0 win at Blackburn last weekend.
