Bridget Galloway’s second hat-trick in as many games blasted Sunderland Ladies to a 6-0 friendly win against Norton & Stockton Ancients behind closed doors at the Academy of Light.

The 20-year-old’s trio alongside efforts from Katie Barker, Charlotte Potts and a goal from an unnamed trialist provided Mel Reay’s side with two pre-season wins in two games.

Three trialists started on the bench for the Lasses with first-teamers Barker, Emily Hutchinson and Courtney Stewart starting for the first time this summer.

It took Sunderland just 14 minutes to open the scoring with Barker netting her second goal in two games after Galloway’s cutback.

Galloway then turned her attention towards goal, the striker powering an effort into the top corner following a neat passage of play with strike partner Abi Cottam on 26 minutes.

Sunderland re-emerged for the second half with added purpose with new signing Neve Herron, 16, replacing Hutchinson and Erika Warren subbing on for Stewart. Ten minutes into the second stanza and Galloway had her second after touching home Jess Brown’s corner.

And the powerhouse forward didn’t waste any time completing a second hat-trick in as many matches - Barker providing the cross before a cool finish with 25 minutes left on the clock.

Potts bagged a collector's item goal three minutes later – the defender finishing nicely at the back post following Galloway’s delivery.

Reay then sent on Sunderland’s three trialists - one of which grabbed the opportunity to impress with both hands by putting the gloss on the rout after finding the bottom corner.
