Former Sunderland forward Nathan Broadhead starts for Ipswich despite some injury concerns, while midfielder Massimo Luongo is also in the visitors’ team despite picking up a knock in pre-season.

2’ How Sunderland have started

As expected, Sunderland have started in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Bellinham in the No 10 role.

The hosts have just won a free-kick to the left of Ipswich’s penalty area.

Clarke’s delivery was headed away.

Sunderland have gone on the attack from the off here.

They almost created an opening there as Bellingham stepped over Neil’s pass before Clarke’s low cross from the left was parried away by Ipswich keeper Hladky.

Sunderland then won a corner but Clarke’s cross was overhit.

9’ Ipswich trying to play out

Ipswich are trying to play out from the back when the ball is with their goalkeeper, yet Sunderland have pressed well so far.

Bellingham has just been penalised for a foul on Morsy though.

11’ Neil shot blocked

Sunderland have just won another corner after Neil’s shot was blocked.

Clarke’s cross was then headed away.

14’ Broadhead on the left for Ipswich

Broadhead has started on the left for Ipswich but the visitors have struggled to get out of their own half so far.

The former Sunderland forward received the ball in his own half there but was quickly closed down by Bellingham and Roberts on the flank.
