Live updates, analysis and reaction from the Stadium of Light as Sunderland face QPR.

Sunderland were held to a goalless draw with QPR at the Stadium of Light.

In a game of few chances, Mike Dodds’ side stopped a six-game losing run, while keeping their first clean sheet since New Year’s Day. The result leaves Sunderland 12th in the Championship table with eight games remaining this season.

Here's how the game played out:

Sunderland vs QPR

So it's three changes for Sunderland following last weekend's match at Southampton, with Dan Ballard passed fit.

Callum Styles, Adil Aouchiche and Hemir are recalled to the side, with Chris Rigg and Mason Burstow dropping to the bench and Jenson Seelt out injured. Bradley Dack is back on the bench, while left-back Oliver Bainbridge is named in the first-team squad for the first time.

QPR have made two changes following their 2-0 defeat against Middlesbrough last weekend, with Isaac Hayden and Lyndon Dykes replacing Sam Field and Michael Frey.

Here come the teams!

Ready to go...

2' How Sunderland have started

It looks like Sunderland have started in a 4-2-3-1 formation out of possession, with Bellingham alongside Neil in midfield and Hjelde at centre-back.

At times it looks like they are playing with a back three with the ball, with Hume tucking infield.

Mundle is on the right with Ba on the left.

5' Quick feet from Aouchiche

Aouchiche did well to break down the left there before dinking a cross across goal which landed on the roof of the net.

Colback is also getting booed when he receives the ball.

That was the first real chance of the match after Hume only cleared a cross from the right to the edge of Sunderland's box.

Chair's effort was then blocked by Ballard as the hosts conceded a corner, which was eventually headed away.

10' Big save from Patterson

That should be 1-0 to QPR.

Ballard played a blind pass infield which went straight to Andersen on the edge of Sunderland's box, with Patterson out of position.

The Sunderland keeper managed to scramble back across the goal to make a save and parry the ball away after a tame shot from the QPR man.

17' Better from Sunderland

That was better from the hosts after Neil played the ball through the lines to Aouchiche, who then found Mundle on the right.

The winger was able to deliver a cross into the box, with Styles going for a header at the far post yet he wasn't able to meet it.

23' Ambitious from Neil

That would have been some goal after Neil dispossessed Colback near the halfway line and went for goal with Begovic just off his line.

The midfielder's effort dropped onto the roof of the net.
