Sunderland were beaten 1-0 by Championship leaders Leicester at the Stadium of Light – but how did each player fare for the Black Cats?

Jamie Vardy scored the game’s only goal in the 13th minute, after Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson had kept out Wout Faes’ header. After a shaky start, Mike Dodds’ side finished on the front foot but couldn’t force an equaliser.

Here's how the game played out:

Sunderland vs Leicester

Sunderland had just started to settle and force a few more mistakes from Leicester when they were trying to play out from the back.

Hjelde then conceded a cheap corner, which then found Mavididi on the edge of Sunderland's box. The winger's first effort was blocked by Bellingham, before his second shot went over the bar.

31' Bellingham header saved

That was Sunderland's first effort on target after O'Nien stepped out of defence and clipped the ball into Leicester's box.

Bellingham's header was saved by Hermansen, who dived to his left.

There's a pause in play as Seelt receives treatment for what looks like a cut on his head.

The defender is back on now.

37' Another Patterson save

There haven't been many clear-cut chances in the last few minutes.

Choudhury has just registered a low effort from the edge of the box which was comfortable for Patterson to save.

49' Dodds encouraged

Mike Dodds applauds from the touchline as Sunderland win the ball back and look to break forward with space to run into. Ekwah then overhit his pass to the left as he looked to pick out Hjelde.

O'Nien is shown a yellow card for a tackle on Akgun. It looked like a harsh booking but the Sunderland defender will now serve a two-match suspension for picking up 10 yellow cards this season.
