The men behind the money are American businessmen, Robert Platek, Glenn Fuhrman and John Phelan – and fans have had plenty to say on social media regarding investment in the club:

Ian Pickard asked: “So is this how it works it's basically a big loan as they are not getting any shares etc. They help us become great club again hopefully as it's not just about money, needs to spend better than in the past. Then when we are up there we pay them back.”
