Is the Stadium of Light a tough place to perform for Sunderland? Phil Parkinson delivers his verdict

Sunderland remain unbeaten on home soil, Benji Kimpioka’s 90th minute equaliser against Coventry City maintaining the unbeaten run.

And ahead of tonight’s game against Burton Albion (KO 7.45pm) Parkinson won’t entertain any talk of the Stadium of Light being a difficult place to perform.

Asked about playing at home, Parkinson said: “I really don’t feel it’s difficult – if you run around and show energy the supporters get behind the team.

“I think it’s a bit of an excuse really to say it’s hard to play here.

“I’ve spoke to a lot of supporters, I’ve been to functions, I’ve stood on the touchline, you can feel the supporters are desperate to get behind the lads when they show commitment and bravery. Do that and they will get right behind the team.’’
