O’Brien tweeted: “Involved or not we stick together and support each other all the way!! Ha’way the lads let’s bring this trophy back to Sunderland

Meanwhile, Jordan Jones misses out with a hamstring injury.

He tweeted before kick-off: “Gutted beyond words to be missing this but here supporting the boys and can’t wait till we bring this trophy home. HAWAY the lads!!!!!”
