Sunderland were beaten 1-0 by Championship leaders Leicester at the King Power Stadium – but how did each player fare for Tony Mowbray’s side.
Foxes defender James Juston scored the only goal of the game when he headed home Kienan Dewsbury-Hall’s corner in the 12th minute.
Sunderland then had a strong penalty appeal turned down on the stroke of half-time when Dan Neil was brought down by Wout Faes.
Here’s how Phil Smith rated the Sunderland players at the King Power Stadium:

9. Patrick Roberts - 7
Search for a goal or an assist goes on but this was a good performance in the main, restored to his right-wing role and all the better for it. It’ll happen for him if he maintains this level of threat. 7 Photo: Frank Reid

10. Jack Clarke - 6
Had a big chance to put his side ahead early on, but it was a smart stop from Hermansen to deny him. Had some good moments but generally not quite as dangerous as we have seen, though that was in part due to Roberts seeing a lot of the ball on the other flank and threatening. 6 Photo: Frank Reid

11. Mason Burstow - 5
The young striker is leaving Mowbray with a selection dilemma. His work rate is excellent and his pressing here was relentless, helping his side apply pressure on Leicester in dangerous areas. The wait for a goal goes on, though, and that’s primarily because he’s struggling to work shooting opportunities against experienced defenders in the box. 5 Photo: Frank Reid

12. Abdoullah Ba (sub) - 5
Looked a threat from the left flank but missed the best chance his side produced. Was at a narrow angle but with the goalkeeper stranded, had to hit the target from close range. 5 Photo: Frank Reid
