But it was the decision to award the Black Cats a first half penalty that referee chief Mike Jones has admitted was an incorrect one.

Hide AdAs Lynden Gooch tried to flick the ball past full-back Callum Elder, the Hull man was adjudged to have handled in the box – with referee Charles Breakspear ignoring vocal appeals from the hosts before Grant Leadbitter stepped up to level the scores.
And while Hull would eventually come back to snatch a point, McCann was still left disappointed with the penalty call.
“He (Elder) was very unfortunate with the penalty decision that went against him," said the Tigers’ boss, speaking to the Hull Daily Mail.
"I spoke to Mike Jones and he tells me it wasn’t a penalty, it was a mistake but these things are great after the event, aren’t they?
“It is what it is."

Hide AdSunderland boss Lee Johnson was also unhappy with some of the decisions made in the game, and was seen remonstrating with Breakspear following the game.
Hull, meanwhile, could secure promotion this afternoon if they beat Lincoln City.
The Tigers missed out on the chance to seal a top two spot in midweek but could mathematically ensure a return to the Championship today.
