Speaking to the Black Cats’ website, the 23-year-old said he still believes they can be promoted this season, but won’t panic if they fall short.

Louis-Dreyfus spoke to supporters on Tuesday evening and promised to implement a long-term vision at odds with the ‘cost cutting’ and ‘asset stripping’ that he says has taken place in recent years.

@DaveBarkel: Very early days, but personally I’m excited for our future under his tenure. Seems very progressive to me.

@Gerry_McGregor: Very positive. He says the right things & seems as if he wants to do his best by the club. His recent actions are positive too. Even if we don't get promotion, what happens in the summer will be a crucial test for him. I think he will succeed and will be good for the club and the city

@LiamShepard7: He is just like Lee Johnson, he knows what he's on about just like good old Lee. I think both Lee and Kyril are going to get on like a house on fire. I think Kyril is the turning point for a club.

@ShieldsMPSAFC: Encouraging first words. Long-term plan, patience, but demands improvement across all aspects of the club. It's been needed for years!

@craig1226murton: A breath of fresh air

@DeclanWelch: Saying the right things but so did Donald

@WayneEllis96: Speaks well this lad.

@JacobKirkbride: We have got our club back and the feeling is absolutely brilliant. It will take time though for his plans to come through but good to see a lot of his own staff have been brought in now. Now the work needs to begin on new contracts for certain players whose deals are up soon

@dannyveng: Comes across very well, enjoying having a bit of structure at the club for a change!

@hulkcass10: Speaks very well. Already starting building in the areas we need like the academy
