Ex-Sunderland finance director Angela Lowes lands new role at Lancashire Cricket

Sunderland’s former finance director Angela Lowes has landed a new role as chief financial officer at Lancashire Cricket.

Lowes, who had worked at Sunderland for more than two decades and worked under both Ellis Short and Stewart Donald, will start her new role on June 1.

Speaking to the Lancashire Cricket website, Lowes said: “I am thrilled to take this exciting opportunity to join such a major sporting institution with an iconic venue and special heritage.

“I have gained 20 years of invaluable experience working at the Stadium of Light and will bring with me the skills and expertise required to keep Lancashire Cricket moving forwards into a bright future.

“I look forward to working with CEO Daniel Gidney, the Executive Team and meeting everyone at Emirates Old Trafford this summer.”

Lowes’ departure from Wearside was announced in March, Sunderland Chairman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus had already made two appointments to the board of the directors since his takeover was confirmed.

Igor Levin, a legal representative of the Louis-Dreyfus family, has been appointed alongside Patrick Julien Treuer, CFO of the Louis Dreyfus company.

A club statement back in March read: ”Sunderland AFC today announced that long-serving Finance Director Angela Lowes is to step down from her role with immediate effect.

“Angela has been a loyal servant to the club for more than 20 years, having joined in 2000 and been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011.

“The club would like to thank Angela for all she has done for the club and we wish her all the best.”
