Former Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy is reportedly being “lined up” for a spot on this year’s I’m A Celeb television show on ITV.

Hide AdMcCarthy, who featured for Celtic during his playing days, won promotion from the Championship with Sunderland as manager during the 2004-05 season. He has since managed Wolves, Ipswich, Cardiff, the Republic of Ireland and Blackpool.
The 65-year-old is currently without a club, having left Blackpool in April last year, with reports now claiming that the Barnsley-born football icon will potentially appear on the 2024 edition of I’m A Celeb on ITV. The show is in its 24th series and is set to take place in Australia once again. Dates are yet to be announced later this year.
TWTD - an independent Ipswich Town website - have stated “McCarthy is being lined up for this year’s I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” Wearside-born ex-Sunderland player Jill Scott won the series in 2022 and was crowned Queen of the Jungle.
