Sunderland were held to a frustrating goalless draw against 10-man Swansea – but who stood out for Tony Mowbray’s side?
Swansea were reduced to ten men in the 30th minute when Arsenal loanee Charlie Patino was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Pierre Ekwah.
Despite the numerical advantage the Black Cats conceded a penalty on the stroke of half-time, yet Anthony Patterson saved Jamal Lowe’s spot kick.
Here’s how Phil Smith rated the Sunderland players at the Swansea.com Stadium:

9. Jobe Bellingham - 6
Played a delightful through ball for Rusyn that should have led to the opener. Had a good first half but Mowbray has mentioned he is a touch fatigued at the moment so no great surprise to see him replaced early in the second. 6 Photo: Frank Reid

10. Jack Clarke - 6
One excellent cutback for Dack nearly yielded the opener and drew one good stop from Rushworth in the first half. Not quite at his sharpest in the latter stages, perhaps showing a touch of tiredness. 6 Photo: Frank Reid

11. Nazariy Rusyn - 5
Started really brightly but missed his big chance when Jobe played him through on goal, only to lose his footing at the vital moment. Faded towards the end of the half and was replaced not long into the second. 5 Photo: Frank Reid

12. Hemir (sub) - 5
Came close to getting on the end of a Roberts cross shortly after his introduction but didn’t see a lot of the ball or the goal after that. 5 Photo: Frank Reid
