Competition: Win a pair of tickets for the Ronaldinho legends game at the Stadium of Light
Competition: Win a pair of tickets for the Ronaldinho legends game at the Stadium of Light on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Echo has teamed up with the organisers of the Ronaldinho & Friends game at the Stadium of Light on Monday to give away FOUR pairs of tickets to Echo readers in a new competition.
Sunderland announced earlier this year that Brazilian icon Ronaldinho would headline the fixture on Wearside, with former Black Cats striker Jermain Defoe leading the UK Icons team. The Ronaldinho & Friends v Defoe & UK Icons fixture will take place at the Stadium of Light on Monday, May 25, with kick-off at 5pm. And we have four pairs of tickets to give away to Echo readers.
Ronaldinho’s squad already contains several high-profile Brazilian names, including Gilberto Silva, Maicon, Douglas Costa, Philippe Coutinho, Ramires, Kleberson plus Nwankwo Kanu, as well as former Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse and former Black Cats loanee Nicklas Bendtner.
The UK Icons side, led by Defoe, also contains a strong Sunderland flavour. Kevin Phillips, Steven Fletcher, Lee Cattermole, Phil Bardsley, Danny Collins and Pascal Chimbonda are all included, alongside former Premier League names such as Heurelho Gomes, Michael Dawson, Jermaine Pennant, Aaron Lennon, Sandro and Shaun Wright-Phillips.
To be in with a chance of winning a pair of the tickets, simply answer this question: Which former Sunderland striker is leading the UK Icons side?
1) Jermain Defoe
2) Darren Bent
3) Ross Stewart
Email your answer, along with your name and phone number, to [email protected] by 12pm on Saturday May 23rd. The lucky winners will be notified via email later that day. This is not a cash prize. The Echo has four pairs of tickets to giveaway as part of the competition so there are four pairs up for grabs. The tickets will be in sector L17 and they are worth £61.50 each.

The fixture is expected to bring a major nostalgia factor to Wearside, with Ronaldinho regarded as one of the most entertaining footballers of his generation. The former Barcelona, AC Milan and Brazil star won the Ballon d’Or in 2005 and was part of Brazil’s 2002 World Cup-winning squad.
