Sunderland are still on the hunt for their next manager but the latest reports claim a step has been made in the right direction with former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior the new favourite to be named Michael Beale’s long-awaited permanent successor. Rosenior was hard done by last season, narrowly missing out on the play-offs only to be sacked by the East Yorkshire club at the end of the campaign.
As for the Black Cats, they will have big ambitions next season, hoping to put together a much better play-off bid, although managerial continuity will be key to that, something Sunderland should have learned last season.
