The Australian international put pen to paper on a two-year deal to become the Black Cats’ second summer signing over the weekend, and is targeting a second career promotion after returning to Wearside.

Hide AdWright has previously won promotion from the third tier with Preston North End, and believes that Sunderland’s aim should be to clinch the League One title once football resumes in September.
"I’m sure when we get in and we have discussions as a group and as a club, it will be to win that league and nothing less than that,” he said, speaking to the club’s new podcast SAFC Unfiltered.
"We’ll be aiming high and it’s realistic with the group we’ve got and what we’ve got behind us.

While Sunderland’s squad have returned to training already, Wright will be made to sit out of group action for another week after recently returning from holiday in Ibiza.
So while the Black Cats prepare to move into Phase Two training – which permits group work and is a step towards full throttle training – Wright will be asked to follow an individual programme.

"I’m hoping I’ll be in on 10th August,” he admitted.
“Unfortunately I was stuck in Ibiza and a rule change meant that I have to self-isolate now for 14 days. As soon as I found out I tried to get a flight out of there straight away, but I couldn’t find anything within two hours notice.
"It is what it is – it’s unusual and not ideal, but we have to do what we’re told.
