The Black Cats have made 10 alterations to their starting XI, with Jordan Willis the only player to keep his spot in the lineup.

Bailey Wright, Luke O’Nien, Denver Hume, Lynden Gooch, Grant Leadbitter, and Josh Scowen all return to the side, while Max Power wears the captain’s armband.

Up front Will Grigg has been handed a rare start alongside Charlie Wyke, while Remi Matthews starts ahead of Lee Burge between the sticks, with the number one carrying a slight ankle issue that means he is only fit enough for the bench.

And it’s those two decisions that really seem to have gotten supporters talking:

@MattyCain2 tweeted: “I see Mr William Grigg, am I hallucinating?”

@braddfearnleyy tweeted: “Grigg goal inbound”
