Sunderland supporters enjoyed a night to remember as European football arrived at the Stadium of Light for the first time. Wednesday’s victory over AZ Alkmaar ended the club’s 53-year wait for a European fixture, with Enzo Le Fée’s penalty ensuring the occasion finished with three points.
Photographer Frank Reid was there to capture fans enjoying a moment generations of supporters had waited to experience. We’ve brought together 20 of his photographs from the evening – take a look through the gallery and see if you can spot yourself, your family or your friends.
