Ross Stewart’s 26th goal of the season sealed Sunderland’s win following Elliot Embleton’s first-half opener. Sunderland were dominant on what could have been a very nervy day at Wembley against Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe Wanderers.
With Black Cats fans packing out their allocation at Wembley, Sunderland sealed their return to the Championship for the first time in four years, ending their Wembley hoodoo in the process.
