Peterlee Sunday League: Central perk up to storm into Ivey Cup semi-finals

In the third round of the same competition, Horden CW Supporters reached the quarter-finals by defeating Easington CIU 4-2 in a tremendous all-Premier Division clash.

James Connor, with a brace, man of the match Jack Pounder and sub Ben Davies were the Supporters Club scorers, with Thomas Goundry and Simon Todd netting for CIU, whose star man was keeper Joe Atherton

In the Cyril Dunn Memorial Cup, Easington HMS Victory defeated defiant Hetton Social 3-1 to progress to the semi-finals.

South Hetton Cricket Club are the new leaders of the First Division after edging home 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller against winless bottom side Horden Cricket Club.

Brandon Cook, Damien Hope, Liam Watson and Mark Hartley all netted, with keeper Michael Smith outstanding for South Hetton.

In the only Premier Division game played, a goal from Dave Beeston gave Shotton Comrades the lead at half-time against Hetton The Tuns.

But the home side fought back in the second period to equalise through Scott Henderson. The draw keeps Tuns in third place, while Comrades moved level on points with fourth-top Peterlee Helford United. Scott Danks starred for Comrades.
