'Wow' - Sky pundit blown away by Newcastle player, claims he has 'done enough' to seal summer exit
Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie has argued that Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin could leave the club this summer.
The Frenchman missed a large part of the Magpies’ campaign through injury, but returned to the starting lineup to great effect in the latter stages of the season, and helped Steve Bruce’s side to secure a 12th-placed finish.
His eye-catching displays have made him a standout – and incredibly popular – member of the Toon Army’s squad, and with the likes of Arsenal rumoured to be keeping tabs on him in the past, Hendrie believes that the 24-year-old could be in demand again this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the former Aston Villa midfielder said: “Wow, what a player.
"He, I think, has turned the season massively since coming back from injury.
"Some of the things he does… he’s been standout. He offers that in abundance going forward, he runs with the ball great, he scores some brilliant goals. He has been the big difference since coming back into the team.
"It’s all about keeping him. If you look at the [Adama] Traores of this world, I feel he’s better than them because he can run with the ball, he’s got great ability, he's got the confidence, every time I’ve seen him play.
"He’s one of them players that I feel they’ll do well to keep. I’ve got to say that he’s one of them I think will possibly go.
"I think he’s done enough.”
Saint-Maximin scored three goals and assisted five more over the course of 25 Premier League outings this season.
