Under-fire Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce handed double boost ahead of Everton clash

Newcastle United defensive duo Ciaran Clark and Paul Dummett both appear to have returned to first-team training at the club’s Benton training base.

Pictures circulated by the club on social media show the pair both involved in training drills with the rest of the Magpies’s squad raising hopes Clark and Dummett could well return to the fold for this weekend’s trip to Everton.

Manager Steve Bruce was without Dummett and Clark, as well as Federico Fernandez, for the midweek home loss to Leeds United.

DeAndre Yedlin, who has missed the last two with visa issues and has been linked with a move away, was also pictured, so too was Matt Ritchie and Javier Manquillo, who was only fit enough for a place on the bench against the Whites.

Sean Longstaff, frozen out of the matchday squad, is also pictured in the training ground pics alongside the likes of Andy Carroll, tipped for a return this weekend, as well as Allan Saint-Maximin.
