Wilson will miss the final three games of the season after suffering a hamstring injury in last week’s 4-2 win over Leicester City The striker – who scored twice at the King Power Stadium – has pledged to come back “stronger and hungrier” from the injury.

Bruce, for his part, believes, with hindsight, that Wilson – who had a spell out with another hamstring injury earlier this year – should have been taken off before the end of the Premier League game.

Wilson’s strikes against Leicester took his goal tally for the season to 12.
