Scott Parker refuses to rule out Premier League safety for Fulham as he sends warning to Newcastle United and Burnley

The Cottagers’ 2-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday left them nine points from safety with four games left to play.

Newcastle United go to Craven Cottage on the final day of the season, while Burnley also visit West London a week on Monday.

If Steve Bruce’s side beat Arsenal at St James’s Park today, the situation will become even bleaker for Fulham.

However, Parker isn’t giving up hope just yet – backing his side to collect maximum points between now and the end of the campaign.

"We'll try to go and win four games now,” Parker said after the defeat at Stamford Bridge. “That's the aim, we've got to try and do it.

“I'm very proud of the team today. Proud of the performance. The courage we showed in terms of playing against a top side and we knew the challenge what we faced today.

“It is fair to say over the last few weeks we've fell a little bit short of what I expect from this team. What I expect is to show our way.

“Maybe it is the pressure of what our situation brings and sometimes when that pressure comes people take a little bit more of an easy option.

“I thought we were back where I like us to be and certainly every bit of where we need to be to try and win games in this division.

“There's no denying in certain moments we've lacked in certain areas and that was probably the story of today's game.”

Fulham had two big opportunities to exit the relegation zone last month but lost against Aston Villa and Wolves.

Parker added: "I understand from the outside people will laugh, people will think I'm crazy. There is no other option for me, this football club, or this group of players.

"It will start on Monday night, we need to go to try and win against Burnley, then we need to try and win Southampton, then Manchester United and Newcastle.”
