Adam Armstrong is reportedly under consideration by Newcastle, three years after they sold him to Blackburn Rovers for just £1.75m.

The £25m-rated Geordie forward, as per The Sun, is being chased by a number of Premier League teams with West Ham and Fulham ready to start the bidding.

Brighton and Everton are also interested in the 24-year-old, who finished as the Championship’s second top scorer last term with 28 goals.

Rovers could cash in on Armstrong as he enters the final year of his contract and if a sale is completed then United will gain 40 per cent of the transfer fee after installing a sell-on clause when they let their academy graduate go.

However, it is claimed Steve Bruce’s side are weighing up an offer themselves to bring Armstrong home.

Armstrong featured 21 times for the United first team whilst also enjoying loan spells at Coventry City, Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn before completing a permanent move to Ewood Park.

Celtic star linked with Toon switch

Newcastle are keen on bringing Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard to the Premier League, as per reports in Scotland.

Leicester City lead the race to sign the Frenchman, who worked under Brendan Rodgers during his managerial years at Parkhead.

However, the Magpies, Arsenal, Aston Villa, AC Milan and Napoli are also said to be keen, with The Hoops ready to demand £20m for his services.

The Daily Record add that Celtic stand to bank a profit of just £5.5m on the 23-year-old because a whopping 50 per cent sell-on clause means half will go to former club Paris Saint-Germain.

Edouard has scored 83 goals in 168 appearances for the Scottish giants.
