With movement on Freddie Woodman and Karl Darlow’s departure from the club expected, Pope will be the man Newcastle turn to in order to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
According to reports from the Telegraph, Newcastle are exploring a deal worth £10million for the 30-year-old who is keen to be playing Premier League football ahead of the World Cup at the end of the year.
Pope and Burnley suffered relegation on the final day of last season after being defeated 2-1 by Newcastle at Turf Moor and the Clarets will reportedly not stand in Pope’s way if he wants to leave the club in search of top-flight football.
