Former manager David Moyes eyes move for another ex-Sunderland defender

West Ham United could turn their attentions to Newcastle United defender Javier Manquillo as a ‘cut-price’ full-back option this month.

David Moyes is keen to add a right-back this month and has eyes for Derby County’s Jayden Bogle and Norwich City's rising star Max Aarons.

But with interest growing in that duo, Manquillo is a player, according to the Athletic, who is on Moyes’ radar.

It would represent the Hammers’ second move of the January window following their plays for Middlesbrough keeper Darren Randolph.

Manquillo is out of contract at the end of the season and is unlikely to be offered new terms.

While the Spaniard, signed by countryman Rafa Benitez, has found himself in the first-team of late, a possible contract renewal is complicated by DeAndre Yedlin having another year at the club, as well as Emil Krafth signing from Ligue 1 in the summer.
