Derby County, West Brom, Cardiff City and Birmingham City are among several EFL clubs keen on signing former Sunderland striker Kyle Lafferty, according to reports.

Here, though, we take a look at the latest transfer news from Sunderland and around League One:

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus verdict delivered by finance expert

Football finance expert Keiran Maguire has delivered his verdict on Kyril Louis-Dreyfus and how much of an impact he can make in the transfer market.

“In League One, you’re allowed to spend 60% of your revenue, plus any money that the owner puts into the club,” Maguire told Football Fan Cast

So, depending on how much he wants to fund a recruitment drive, he could have a massive impact.

“The club’s previous owner Stewart Donald was, I suspect, far more cautious when it came to spending money because he wasn’t as wealthy as Louis-Dreyfus.”

Kevin Phillips backs Sunderland to sign Chelsea goalkeeper

And Kevin Phillips has backed Sunderland to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Nathan Baxter.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “It is so important that you have healthy competition in all positions of the pitch.

“The goalkeeping position is one that it often overlooked but it can be very easy to get complacent as a goalkeeper.

“If no one is challenging you, you can start making mistakes. We saw that in the first leg of the play-offs against Lincoln City.

“You definitely need competition in every department if you want to get promoted and Lee Johnson will know that.

“Someone like Baxter coming in can only be a good thing in my eyes.”

League One rivals eye Liverpool goalkeeper

Ipswich Town are interested in signing Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

That’s according to a report by TWTD.

The Tractor Boys are keen to lure the 22-year-old on a loan deal and are aiming to offload Tomas Holy and Dai Cornell.
