The Pools manager missed Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup win at Fleetwood Town after his daughter, Charlotte, was taken ill on holiday in Spain.

Moore flew out to be with her and, after seeing Charlotte’s condition improve, had hoped to get back in time for the trip to Bootham Crescent this afternoon.

But Pools announced last night that Moore would not be back today and that Sam Collins, who led Pools to victory at Highbury, would be in the technical area at York.

Medical restrictions on Charlotte flying at the moment means her dad will remain in Spain over the weekend before returning to the training ground next week.

A Pools statement said: “The club continue to give Ronnie their full support as he takes as much time as necessary to be with his daughter and the rest of his family.

“Assistant manager Sam Collins will now continue in charge of first team matters for the weekend visit to Bootham Crescent.”

Collins put the players through their paces at training on Thursday and yesterday, with former Pools central defender, Ian McGuckin, assisting him at their Maiden Castle HQ.

Pools won 1-0 under the ex-skipper at Fleetwood, following on from a 2-0 success over Morecambe .
