Having beaten the newly-promoted side on the opening day of the league season, the Wildcats were then knocked out of the Continental Tyres Cup by Sheffield just under a fortnight ago.

And Gutteridge knows that having played Sheffield twice in quick succession, the sides will be well versed on each other’s strengths and weaknesses.

“We’ve played each other twice now so we’ll certainly have learnt a lot about each other,” she said.

“We were a lot happier after the first performance.

“I think we’re all really looking forward to it now, especially after the last performance.

“We didn’t really show up in that game, but we’ll be looking to put that right tonight.”

A strong start to the season which yielded nine points from the opening three games was halted with back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa and at Sheffield in the cup.

Now, Gutteridge says her team-mates are desperate to get back to winning ways.

“Everybody is looking to bounce back,” she said. “We’ve put in a good couple of weeks in training to prepare for the game.

“Now we just want to get back out there and put things right.

“The fact we didn’t have a game at the weekend was probably the worst thing as we’ve had to wait, but we aim to put it right.”

The midfielder has netted five times this season, but drew a blank in the last two games.

But she is keen to put the success of the team first. “It’s the plan to get back scoring soon, but I’ll take a goal from anyone tonight!”
