Gateshead announce details of Blackburn Rovers pre-season friendly

Gateshead are to host a Blackburn Rovers XI in their first home game of a busy pre-season schedule.

The fixture was arranged following former Heed midfielder Tom White’s move to the Championship club in July 2019 and was originally scheduled to take place last summer.

However, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic limited Mike Williamson’s side to friendly fixtures against Carlisle United, Sunderland, South Shields and Hartlepool United in their preparations for the National League North season.

The former Premier League champions will now visit the International Stadium on Saturday 17th July in the Heed’s fourth pre-season fixture.

Tickets for the game are now available via the club’s e-ticket service, Seatedly.

They are priced at £15 for all adults and supporters aged under 16 can purchase a ticket for £7.50.

Gateshead kick off their pre-season fixtures with away games at Hebburn Town, Birtley Town and Dunston UTS before their meeting with Blackburn.

Hartlepool United will visit the International Stadium on Saturday 24th July and the Heed will host a Newcastle United XI seven days later.

Williamson’s men will round off their preparations for the upcoming campaign with a short trip to Northern Premier League Premier Division club South Shields on Saturday 7th August.
