FA Vase: Dunston, Morpeth carry Northern League hopes

Dunston UTS and Morpeth Town will fly the flag for the Ebac Northern League in tomorrow's FA Vase fifth round.

Dunston have home advantage for their replay against Ashford United after claiming a draw in Kent last Saturday.

Manager Billy Irwin reports that Stephen Goddard, who played in Dunston’s 2012 final success, comes into his plans, but Dan Halliday is out with the ankle injury he sustained at Ashford.

Morpeth travel to Hertfordshire today to take on Berkhamsted.

Boss Nick Gray watched them play on Tuesday and warned: “They are lively going forward, but hopefully I picked up on their weaknesses. If we play to our potential, I think we can reach the quarter-finals for the first time in the club’s history.”

Club captain Chris Jewels and David Hiftle are definite non-starters, but Jordan Fry hopes to come through a fitness test.
